A ZEUS next-to-leading-order QCD analysis of data on deep inelastic scattering
نویسندگان
چکیده
Next-to-leading-order QCD analyses of the ZEUS data on deep inelastic scattering together with fixed-target data have been performed, from which the gluon and quark densities of the proton and the value of the strong coupling constant, αs(MZ), were extracted. The study includes a full treatment of the experimental systematic uncertainties including point-to-point correlations. The resulting uncertainties in the parton density functions are presented. A combined fit for αs(MZ) and the gluon and quark densities yields a value for αs(MZ) in agreement with the world average. The parton density functions derived from ZEUS data alone indicate the importance of HERA data in determining the sea quark and gluon distributions at low x. The limits of applicability of the theoretical formalism have been explored by comparing the fit predictions to ZEUS data at very low Q. The ZEUS Collaboration S. Chekanov, D. Krakauer, S. Magill, B. The H1 and ZEUS Collaborations have performed new next-to-leading order QCD analyses to determine the parton density functions of the proton. QCD fits are performed using inclusive neutral and charged current deep inelastic scattering cross sections from HERA-I. The fits include a full treatment of experimental systematic uncertainies, taking into account point-to-point correlations. The extrac...
متن کاملCombination of H1 and ZEUS Deep Inelastic ep Scattering Cross Section Measurements and NLO-QCD analysis
Deep inelastic scattering cross section measurements previously published by the H1 and ZEUS collaborations are combined. The procedure takes into account the systematic error correlations in a coherent approach, leading to a significantly reduced overall cross section uncertainty by cross calibrating the various data sets. The analysis is based on data with momentum transfers Q2 > 0.045 GeV2 c...

Dijet cross sections in neutral current deep inelastic ep scattering have been measured in the range 10 < Q < 10 GeV with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 38.4 pb. The cross sections, measured in the Breit frame using the kT jet algorithm, are compared with next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD calculations using proton parton distribution functions. The uncertaintie...

The HERA collider at DESY (Hamburg) has provided Deep Inelastic Scattering (DIS) of electrons off protons in the years 1992-2007 for the H1 and ZEUS experiments with a centre of mass energy up to 318 GeV. Diffractive dissociation of photons in the reaction γ(∗) p → X p, constitute a large fraction (∼ 10%) of the visible cross section in deep inelastic scattering (DIS), and the process can be se...

By using the convolution formalism which consists of Fermi motion and binding effect, we investigate the deep inelastic electron scattering from A=3 mirror in the deep-valence region. The initial valence quark input is taken from the GRVs (Gluck, Reya and Vogt) fitting procedure and the next-to-leading order QCD evolution on FP2 (x,Q2) which gives very good fit to the available data in the (x,Q...
